METAL GEAR ITSELF: The Metal Gear project was started in 1995 deep in South Africa, 200 km North of Garzberg. The project was designed to be the ultimate weapon against enemies. It was a Nuclear Equipped Two-legged Walking Battle Tank that Dr. Pettrovich was forced by Big Boss, to design and create. Metal Gear has many weapons in his arsenal. One is the Vulcan cannon that although being a laser, proves to be little challenge. He also has a rail-gun that will fire at you whenever you come within close range. Another weapon would be the missiles that are located on each of his legs. These missiles are basically the only problem that you face when fighting Metal Gear and if he didn't have these he would be little challenge. Although never fired in the game I'm sure that this would prove quite difficult to face. Vulcan cannon: The Vulcan cannon is a laser gun which fires a laser 100 times as powerful as anything already created. The Rail Gun: The Rail Gun is mounted on Metal Gear's right shoulder. It uses magnets to fire bullets at very high velocities. The Nuclear Weapon: The Nuclear Missiles are located on REX's back. They are launched from a rail gun type structure that will fire them without a propulsion system of their own. This is to avoid red tape from the government because unless they have a propulsion system they are not classed as a missile so they are legal. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY INFORMATION FROM THE GAME AND DON'T START WORRYING ABOUT GIANT ROBOTS NUKING YOUR STREET OK. PREVIOUS OPERATIONS: Most people don't realize but Metal Gear Solid is actually the third installment of the Metal Gear series. The first was simply called Metal Gear and it saw the first appearance of the hero Snake. He was sent on his first mission to stop Big Boss and Grey Fox in Outer Heaven. Though he was underestimated destroying the very first Metal Gear and beating his enemies. The second game was named Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake This game again saw Snake our favorite hero as well as the return of Big Boss and Grey Fox.. Again Snake was put up against impossible odds and finally meets Grey Fox controlling Metal Gear. Once Metal Gear was destroyed then it was a hand-to-hand duel on a minefield. Upon beating Grey Fox Big Boss had his turn, he was waiting for Snake to beat Fox so he could exact his revenge for what happened at their last meeting. |
